In Land Between the Lakes

Duncan Bay, KY
October 6

We had a mix up with the car taking Amy to the airport, but it got straightened out and we ended up taking one other person and some baggage while the 3 others went in a cab.  We had fog, lack of fuel and the van died 2 times, but we made it ok.  The guy who traveled with us was fun, but the one in the cab was a grouch.  Even Amy's sunshine and smiles did not soften him up at all.

We went back to the marina and they did not charge us for the van and gave our money back on the slip for the night.  We were really ready to move on.  We only traveled about 15 miles down to Duncan Bay so we could rest, clean up and get organized.  We were in a pretty good mess and quite tired.

Duncan Bay was very beautiful and looked quite different from Pisgah Bay even though it is only about 5 miles away.  We were pretty tired, so relaxed for the afternoon and spent the next day cleaning the boat and putting things away.  Can't quite figure out just how we get in such a mess.

Cypress Creek - Kentucky Lake
October 8

We anchored in a quiet little cove in Cypress Creek along with another boat, Reliquary, with Nancy, Terry and their Portuguese Waterdog, Sophie.  We put the dinghy in the water and explored around.  The marinas have mostly houseboats and pontoon boats.

We saw a lot of fish jumping and quite a few turtles.  We saw a bird of prey with its catch, but we were not quite sure what kind of bird it was.
