Chimneyville 2009
We got a double booth
here and weren't quite ready for it. We bought
another row of lights for the left end and set the
booth in the middle of the 20 ft. We used our
awning poles for lights and pushed the tables out.
We used the TV trays from the camper for the cash
register. I think our curtains look kind of
tacky, but they were better straight on. If I
hadn't brought them out on the sidebars it would
have been better.

Booth Evolution
Our booth must fit into a Honda
CRV. The frame and tent goes on top on kayak
racks and the rest of the booth goes inside.
We are looking for
-
Flexibility in arrangement
-
Light weight
-
Compact packing
-
Color scheme that looks good
with the jewelry
-
A cozy environment
-
Must fit into the CRV along
with step ladder, rolling carts, jewelry, lunch
and us.

Handworks 2009
Nice corner booth.
We left an exit on the right end where the mirror
is. It helps when I can go outside and talk
with people or help them try on things. New
signs and new photos helped too, but I wonder if
they are too much. Love the lights.
Probably need more
turquoise added to the table area - though we did
put turquoise in the showcase with the knots and on
top of the copper tables.

Renaissance Festival 2009
Finally made a decision
on the color scheme. Wish we could have found
the turquoise on the table tops, but I bought all of
that when I saw it. So we used ultra suede
curtains. They are rather neutral and hang
fairly well. They also pack and wash well.
We have also gone to folding tables that will hold
everything at the right height, provide flexibility
in arrangement, are light and fit in the CRV.
We can set up a full 20 ft. of display space if
needed.

Bukka White Blues Festival 2009
In this local show, we
featured the copper jewelry and have one showcase on
the side of the silver.
We also bought an EZ-up
for one day shows so we don't have to work ourselves
to death setting up the tent for one day.
Don't like the looks of it, but it really doesn't
make sense to use 2 hours of the one day setting up
and tearing down the tent.

Jubilee Festival 2009
This was the hottest
show of the year. We had to wash down the
jewelry to cool it enough for people to touch.
Can't tell much about the booth, but we were doing a
lot of talking about what to do with those heavy
showcase stands. Love the cases but hate
the stands.
Still struggling to get
a color scheme. Tried to find turquoise for
the table skirts all spring and summer. Must
have had a lot of turquoise weddings this year -
nothing available.

Arts Alive Festival 2009
We were going for
symmetry here - also room for people to move.
Don stands behind on the left and I work behind on
the right where the copper is. This rug is
from a camper place and weighs nearly nothing -
polypropylene and impervious to most everything but
UV rays.
|

Gum Tree Festival 2009
Thank goodness for the
rug here - it was a real rain out. But we had
a great crowd and excellent sales. We are
really beginning to have a body of contiguous work.
Also - the new backdrop is giving us some
continuity.

Double Decker Arts Festival 2009
Not a very good shot of
the booth, but have to show off that Best in Show
ribbon. What a surprise. So excited.
And what a show day. We sold 168 pieces in one
day.
|

Jerry Brown Arts Festival 2009
Still struggling with a
color scheme, but doing a little better.
Lights need to be forward from where they were.
The white table lights were more distracting than
the black ones, but still needed overhead lights
instead. Getting better though.

Tombigbee Career Women
This is a small trunk
show at the Elkin Theatre, but it shows the need for
a backdrop. There is so much going on behind
the booth that it is hard to focus on the jewelry.
What's up with no
covers on the stands? Looks like a mess.

Chimneyville Crafts Festival 2008
This was our first Chimneyville
even though we had been in the guild 4 years by
then. We managed to get a floor covering and
some flowers and tried to create a tiny jewelry
store. People stood at the edge of the rug and
would sort of peer over at the displays. After
Patron's Night we brought the displays right up to
the edge. Still no color scheme.
|

Lowndes County 2008
We got a Trimline tent
and curtains, so needed to set it up before
Chimneyville. We also covered the wooden
frames we were using for the showcases on the
inside. What a job that was. No color
scheme, but we did manage to get a couple of
photographs up and begin overhead lighting.
|

Bukka White Blues Festival 2008
We were away working
and finally retired and moved home. Had done a
few trunk shows, but not really much of anything.
We did manage to get some table skirts (though they
don't drape very well, and some lighting and even
one side so it is a beginning.
|

Bukka White Blues Festival 2004
This is the first time we had our
jewelry in a show. No walls, no table skirts,
no flooring, no lights - combined with some silk
paintings. But you have to start somewhere.
