Tucuman Braid Bracelet

This is a new design from Don Coulson at Kingfisher Designs.  The Tucuman Braid originated in Argentina was used in making horse reins.  The Tucuman Braid is a unique braid, but what really sets this bracelet off from other braided bracelets is that the clasp is the focal point of the bracelet.

This braid is dome shaped on the outside and flat on the inside.  This shaping along with the position of the clasp makes the bracelet an unusual and well-thought-out piece, but it is also a sturdy comfortable piece of jewelry for every day wear.

This bracelet can be made for a man or woman and in a variety of metals and combinations of metals.  This tutorial is shown in sterling silver, but it is a wonderful casual bracelet when it is shown in silver and copper.

As you can see from the photograph to the left, using different metals or adding a patina allows you to make a wardrobe of unique bracelets from this one tutorial.

This is an intermediate project with 29 pages and 75 photographs.

I've got Chandler and Richey's "Woven wire jewelry" and I think your instructions on braiding are better than theirs."

I wanted to say a big thanks to Mei.  This is an original design by Don Coulson and when the tutorial is bought, it is important to acknowledge the designer.   This is a gracious and generous acknowledgement of the time, talent and energy that Don put into this wonderful tutorial.
