Private Trunk Show

We were invited to do a private trunk show this week and have spent most of the month preparing stock.  We sold some, but not a lot, however it force us to get our things organized.

We ordered gift bags and tissue, made gift tags, made hang tags, cut gift wrap and set up the best displays we could.  We are still on the road, so we don't have our usual lighting and displays.  We also changed out our credit card account to ProPay.  That will be more efficient for travelers.

One surprise is that we had a piece stolen.  I can't imagine that there would be a theft at a private showing, but it was there.  Two of us were watching the jewelry and we both realized the ring was gone at the same time.  It took us a couple of minutes to figure out which person it was.  She was at the table with no name tag, but later we saw her with her name tag on.  I didn't say anything to the host business.

Also, this month, we have moved our website to another host after myriad problems with our previous hosting.  We also bought www.wireknotters.com for the nautical wire jewelry that Don is designing.  He is retiring Nov. 2 and will be working with the jewelry full time, so we are starting another chapter of our lives

Another piece we did was the Flourishes Bracelet.  I had designed it (as usual) using just wire and no beads.  We had a nice assortment of beads on those in class, but unfortunately, this is the only one I managed to get in focus in the photos.  It uses crystals.  We had one using gold beads, another using silver beads and another using butterfly beads.

Wildacres

We have had a very hectic month and I have so many more memories of Wildacres to post.  Everyone did such beautiful work and worked so hard.

Just to give an idea of how creative they were, here are the results of the basket class.

As you can see, They used beads to a great advantage.  I am not a beader and don't have much imagination when it comes to beads, so this was a wonderful revelation to me.

Wildacres

There is just no way I can describe how much fun I had a Wildacres and how wonderful the people in the class were.  They were enthusiastic, imaginative, funny and intrepid.  They would literally try anything.

At some points, we had 5 projects going at once and kind of jumped back and forth from one to the other.  This is because I thought we had 6 days for class and we had 4 1/2.  We actually worked most nights until bedtime so we got 9 projects finished.

I will write more about this in future posts because there is just too much to tell at once.
