Updates Done

Got out the Monthly Gemstone - Rainbow Calsilica and JumpStart #47.  When I get to JumpStart #50, I will do a second edition of Best of JumpStarts.

I need to work on scheduling so that the site doesn't eat up all of my time and keep me from working on jewelry, but right now 250 stones are in the works to go on the site and it is taking days.

Last week I manage to kind of get control of the Blog, so now I have laid out the site update and management schedule as a part of the site so I can know when things are do and have committed to keeping the pages current.  When you have written a book about how to develop a jewelry website - ShowCase:  Develop, Maintain and Market Your Own Jewelry website - your own site must be current and in good order.  It is so much work to keep them alive as they should be.

This pendant is in gold-filled and opal with a dyed freshwater stick pearl.  I am trying different weaves with this one and a slightly different order for working.

This one won't look good on a black leather.  Maybe it should be on a collar.

Right now it looks a little like a spider.

Don made this one of a pearl component I brought from Tahiti.  It is a lovely gray pearl on a carved black lipped shell.  The carvings are much like the tattoos in French Polynesia.

I think it has a very Frank Lloyd Wright look to it.  the perfect mounting for he pendant.  I had planned a silver chain, but the black leather is just right.

This is one of my photos, so doesn't look so good.  His photographs are far far better than mine.

This is the finished coral and onyx piece.  It is 1 1/2 inches.  it like the size better, but learned so much on this one also.  I guess every one will be a learning experience.

I am thinking these may look best on a black cord.  I dont' think a chain will be the best thing for them.

The first group of stones is finally up.  They are really lovely and I sort of hated to put some of them online, but that was the plan.  These are the stones we use for our own work and if they sell, we can't use them ourselves. They are some of the best stones we have.

Well this is a pretty bad photo - I am glad Don takes the ones for the sites.  It looks more like a spider than anything in this picture.

It is a woven piece in progress.  These take quite a lot of time, but they are fascinating.  It is somewhat like working a puzzle.

Cranking up the Blog

After 8 months of not working with my on-line journal, I will attempt to keep a better record of activities in the studio.  Since last time I have written anything in the journal, I have moved 3 times and traveled half way around the world to visit with my daughter.  In the next few days I will try to catch the year up to date.
