Workbench Log - August 2006

Off to New England

8/2/06

The most difficult aspect of packing for a short time was getting our jewelry tools and camera set-up all organized and bringing everything I thought we would need.  The labor was much more in unloading the camper and repacking, but the confusing part was in what to bring in a small space.  I left the anodizer in Aberdeen, but brought the soldering set-up.  I only brought 1 box of beads along with the jump ringer.  I have no idea if I am bringing the right things or not.

We left Kansas City to go to West Texas to visit family and then off to either Aberdeen, Greenville or Austin, TX.  We had good visits with family and along the way got an e-mail that we were requested in Massachusetts again for a while.

This is the way Sassy likes to ride.  Looks as if she is really helping Don drive.  We ended up going back to Aberdeen so Don could leave for Massachusetts the next day and I would follow later on.  Unexpected.

Sketch Book

8/7/06

Seems that there is little chance to work with jewelry just now preparing for the move.  During these times I do a lot of work with my sketch book.  It surprises me to look back in the books to see how many pieces have been made from the books.

I have colored pencils and water colors, but it seems that just pencil drawings work better to explain what I am trying to design.  With the addition of being able to tack with solder, it is giving us more range in the designs.
