What to Ask Your Jeweler

You frequently hear that you can easily be taken advantage of in buying jewelry and if you don't know a lot about what you are buying, you need to deal with someone you can trust.  That person will be glad to answer your questions.  Perhaps here we can help you with the kinds of questions you might want to ask your jeweler.

  1. Has this item been treated?

  2. What is the guarantee on stones for falling out?

  3. How should I clean this piece?

  4. How durable is this stone?

  5. Can I wear the stone in sunshine?

  6. What is the value of just the stone in this piece?

  7. Is there any maintenance needed for this piece? (By this I mean something like the care that must be taken of emeralds on a regular basis)

  8. Where do these stones come from?

  9. What is your warranty policy?

  10. What is your return policy?

This is, by no means, an exhaustive list of what you might want to ask your jeweler.  If you can think of anything else, please drop us a line at info@jewelryspectrum.com
